The CARE Fund was established within the Big Spring Area Community Foundation in 2008. The purpose of the CARE Fund is to assist residents of Howard County and all adjoining counties suffering from devastating illness or injuries. It is intended to provide assistance to the patient and/or the patient’s family with the indirect expenses associated with their diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, or therapy that are not ordinarily covered by health or hospital insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, or provided at no cost by local health-related agencies. Such indirect expenses shall include, but are not limited to, expenses for things such as travel, lodging, meals, child care, etc. when such expenses are reasonably necessary to allow the patient to receive the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, or therapy required for their proper care.

If you or someone you know might be a candidate for an award from the CARE Fund, please contact George Bancroft at the Big Spring Area Community Foundation for more information. George can be reached by phone at 432-816-7246 or via email at George@bsacf.org.
