In December of 2023, Roy and Michelle Worthy donated $15,000 to the Big Spring Area Community Foundation and asked that the funds be used to establish a permanent endowment that will provide scholarship money to graduating seniors from Big Spring, Coahoma, Forsan, and/or Sands High Schools. Henry, a 1979 graduate of Big Spring High School, lived his youth and much of his adult life in Big Spring. In 2021, Greg was selected to be the first Executive Director of the Big Spring Area Community Foundation, and his efforts in that capacity were instrumental in raising the profile of the Foundation.

When asked why the Worthys felt compelled to honor Mr. Henry, Roy had this to say, “Greg was a lifelong friend of ours. He was just a wonderful soul, always ready to lend a hand to a friend or community event. We just felt like Greg should be remembered and that by establishing a scholarship fund in his name, we could do what Greg was so good at, helping young people move forward and get closer to their dreams.
