The Big Spring Area Community Foundation (BSACF) Fund provides scholarships to students and grants to Big Spring Area non-profit organizations. Donations received by the Foundation that are not specifically designated by the donor for one of the Foundation's other funds will be placed in the BSACF Fund.
Donations to the Big Spring Area Symphony Association Fund will be applied for support of the Big Spring Symphony.
The Buffalo Trail Council Scholarship Fund awards an annual scholarship to an Eagle Scout from the Buffalo Trail Council.
The purpose of the Care Fund is to assist residents of Howard County and all adjoining counties suffering from devastating illness or injuries. The Fund is intended to provide assistance to the patient and/or the patient's family with the indirect expenses associated with their diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation or therapy that are not ordinarily covered by health or hospital insurance, Medicaid or Medicare, or provided at no cost by local health related agencies. Such indirect expenses shall include, but are not limited to, expenses for things such as travel, lodging, meals, child care, etc. when such expenses are reasonably required for their proper care.
The Forsan Scholarship Fund provides up to $3,000.00 per semester to a graduating senior from Forsan High School.
The Fraternal Order of the Eagles Scholarship will award one or more scholarships annually to recipients proposed by the governing body of Howard County Future Farmers of America, the principal and counselors from Big Spring High School, Coahoma High School, or Forsan High School.
Donations to the Hangar 25 Air Museum Fund will be applied for support of the Hangar 25 Air Museum.
Donations to the Heritage Museum of Big Spring Fund will be applied for support of the Heritage Museum.
The HOPE (Help Our Pupils Succeed) Fund awards grants to Big Spring ISD teachers annually to fund district approved educational projects.
Donations to the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department Fund will be applied for support of the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department.
The Jim Conley Scholarship Fund provides $2,000.00 per year for two years to students who are enrolled at an accredited vocational or technical college.
The Lakeview Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Big Spring High School students who intend to attend Howard College in Big Spring. Candidates should be below the top 10% of their graduating class (calculated by grade point average) so that the scholarship(s) are available to students who might otherwise not receive scholarship offers.
The Mansfield-Wrightsil Scholarship Fund will award at least one scholarship annually to a graduating Big Spring High School student. The student must have lived in Big Spring for at least two years and intend to pursue a STEM or Liberal Arts degree. The student must have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement in high school. Criteria include a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, at least one year documented extracurricular activity (e.g., sports, music, community involvement), and two letters of recommendation (one academic and one extracurricular).
The Polly Mays Memorial Fund provides grants to area non-profit organizations.
Donations to the Young Men's Christian Association of Big Spring Fund will be applied for support of the Big Spring YMCA.
